Background
Every year, the School of International Development and Global Studies at the University of Ottawa invites advanced students and members of faculty to present work in progress through a brown bag speaker series. The work presented examines how Congolese refugees undertaking different forms of cultivation labor have built a vision that subverts the carceral form of encampment. In doing so, they constitute a post-camp agrarian utopia.
