Synopsis
As a piece of public scholarship, this article summarizes key findings first published in the Journal of Rural Studies. Based on fieldwork at Mahama camp, Rwanda, this article outlines how Congolese refugees envision a peaceful rural future, working alongside Rwandan’s who are currently landless. This story showcases a productive example of environmental peacebuilding, and local integration where both refugees and the host community work together to achieve common goals.
